This week ahead

We will be aiming to finish ch. 3 this week! Please preview 3.8 Newton's Method, which is a method to approximate a zero when you cannot use a calculator.  You will need to memorize the steps of applying Newton's Method and follow the steps rigorously every time.

Today we finished covering 3.7, which is nothing more than applications on finding local max./min.

Please complete the 3.7 homework as listed in the syllabus.

Tim, on page 6, read under "To Sum a Sequence" to find out how to input a summation into the TI.  Basically it is just like how I showed you in class, except we messed up the syntax.
